 FAQ
- How many MP3s can I upload?
- You can upload 100Mb every month. That's about 30 songs, depending on the length and bitrate of each. There is no limit to how many songs you can keep online, so after one year you could be sharing 1,200Mb of MP3s (12 x 100Mb), or 6Gb after 5 years and so on...
- Is it really free?
- Yes, this is a free service - you pay nothing at all. Really!
- Is it really legal?
- Yes, TuneFeed is 100% legal as we pay royalties directly to the artists, just like a radio station would. We meet these costs so you can be sure you're not breaking any laws.
- What's the catch?
- There is no catch. We make money through advertising, partnerships and PRO memberships which offer unlimited uploads and bandwidth, no advertising and other benefits - click here for more info.
- How do I play MP3s I have uploaded?
- Just visit your own member site at http://your_username.tunefeed.com! All your music will be available there.
- Can I really put my music anywhere?
- Absolutely, you can put the free TuneFeed music player on any website you want. Just log-in, select a TuneFeed (playlist) and click the SHARE button, then copy the code and paste it onto your MySpace page or anywhere else.
- How do I customize my music player?
- Once logged in, select the TuneFeed you want to edit, and click CUSTOMIZE button.
- Can I download my MP3s again?
- Of course, it's your music not ours! Just log-in and click the DOWNLOAD button. You can use TuneFeed as a free off-site backup service if you want. If your house is burgled or burns down and you lose all the music on your computer, you'll be glad you had it backed up to your TuneFeed account! Remember, PRO Members have absolutely UNLIMITED uploads.
- Are there any hidden fees?
- None whatsoever. Free memberships are just that, Free! Nothing to pay. Zip. Zero. Nothing. Nada!
- What about privacy and spam?
- We understand how important your privacy is, and hate spam as much as you do. We will never share your email with anyone, ever. See our TRUST-E approved privacy policy for more details.
- How come I can't edit the track name and artist name of songs in my locker?
- We do the right thing by artists and pay royalties. As part of this we are obliged to use a 3rd-party service that helps us identify all songs, which should also make life easier for our users. We are aware that these services are not always perfect but rest assured we are working hard with our partners to ensure that most songs are correctly identified.
- Why do I need 14 items in a TuneFeed? And why do I find songs which I didn't upload in my TuneFeed?
- For legal reasons we need to make sure that the songs in a TuneFeed are not entirely predictable on playback. It's to do with the licensing requirements that the regulating bodies impose on companies like us. We know it's a bit of a pain but we are working on new arrangements such that this behavior isn't necessary. Until then you might find that we've added a few random songs so your TuneFeed is still playable by us without breaking any laws. If you don't want this to happen it's best to add more than 14 songs to your TuneFeeds.
